Founded in 1980, Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners promote a design
philosophy that sees no separation between architecture, planning and
industrial design. Examples of the practice’s work include the highly
acclaimed Channel Tunnel Railway Terminal at Waterloo, London and the
Vitra furniture factory at Weil-am-Rhein, Germany.
NGP’s industrial design group, headed by Duncan Jackson, functions on
several levels by working independently with product manufacturers while
also providing a critical design resource for the firm’s own
architectural teams.
Placing special emphasis on environmental sustainability, Nicholas
Grimshaw & Partners are currently working on buildings all over the
world. These architectural projects have been accompanied by a
corresponding growth in industrial design work, underscoring the
practice’s commitment to producing fully integrated solutions.
