Tom Peters graduated from the Art Center College of Design in
Pasadena, California in 1980 with a degree in Transportation Design. He
has since become one of the illustrious cast of Art Center grads who run
some of the world’s largest automotive design studios and shape today’s
hottest cars.
With the exception of a brief stint at Texas Instruments, Tom has spent
his career navigating the ranks of General Motors where he is now
Advanced Design Director. Tom’s recent roles have included Vehicle Chief
Designer for both the XLR Cadillac Roadster and the C6 Corvette.
Forms+Surfaces first invited Tom Peters to design architectural door and
cabinet hardware in 1992. Here Tom found immediate gratification as he
was able to translate his talent for designs that convey fluid, sensual
strength into pure sculpture. Tom’s “speed shapes”—forms that look like
they are in motion even while standing still—have become some of the
most popular in our line.
Tom, a muscle car enthusiast, lives in the Detroit area with his wife
and three children. |
