Designed and built through a unique
public-private partnership, the York Rapid Transit project is bringing
cutting-edge bus and light rail services to the rapidly-growing
communities north of Toronto. Phase 1 of this ambitious 20-year
program includes new bus shelters and terminal stations using durable
Transit seating from Forms+Surfaces.
Made entirely of corrosion resistant stainless steel, Transit seating
was developed specifically for public transportation and other
environments where ruggedness, security and maintenance ease are
paramount. Phase 1 benches were specified in a single-sided backless
configuration with natural stainless steel finish. Highly adaptable,
Transit’s modular design will make it easy to add double-sided or
backed benches as needed for the project’s future phases. With its
short-term elements now up and running, York Rapid Transit can depend
on Forms+Surfaces’ products for long-term performance and value.
