Directly facing Tampa’s City Hall, the
36-story SunTrust Financial Centre has quickly become one of the
downtown area’s most prominent landmarks. Custom lighting by
Forms+Surfaces played an important role in making the project such a
spectacular success.
For the building’s entrance, we fabricated a dramatic colonnade of
19-foot torchieres using aluminum structures with seamless welds. The
geometric theme evident in the torchieres mirrors the pyramid-topped
design of the office tower itself. Carrying the same theme indoors, we
crafted an amazing collection of large sconces and pendants using
glass and polished stainless steel. Beautiful by day, breathtaking by
night, the SunTrust Financial Centre’s lighting showcases the superb
