The Ronald Reagan
Building and International Trade Center is the capstone of Washington
DC’s Federal Triangle complex. Encompassing 3.1 million square feet of
space, architects had the special challenge of designing a building
not only of epic scale, but one that would also link the Triangle’s
historic structures with a more forward-looking vision for the future.
Lighting design came to play a major role in this mission, and the
architects turned to Forms+Surfaces to provide some of the most unique
and memorable custom lighting ever created for a public building.
One of the specifications for the Ronald Reagan Building was that
lighting fixtures had to be designed to last a minimum of 200 years.
Applying our expertise with stainless steel and our capacity to take
on jobs of any scope, we were able to deliver a finished project of
truly monumental proportions.
