Ohlone College Overview

Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology opened in January 2008 on an 80-plus-acre site in Newark, California. The eco-friendly campus is considered the first “green” community college in the nation.

The campus incorporates energy efficient features such as photovoltaic solar panels, geothermal heating and cooling, and high-efficiency lighting. The interior areas include insulation made from recycled blue jeans, carpets made from recycled material, and furniture made from at least 65% recycled materials.

Our fully recyclable Hudson and Leda Benches, with their durable FSC 100% Ipé hardwood slats and other materials with a high recycled content, fit right into this vision.
