Founded in 1891, the New York Botanical
Garden is a National Historic Landmark and one of the world’s most
beautiful places to enjoy and learn about plants. Forms+Surfaces
supplied custom architectural metalwork, lighting and signage for the
Garden’s new Leon Levy Visitor Center.
Crafted from steel, the trellis-like structures and gateways frame
views that make the setting’s natural beauty the focal point of the
visitor’s experience. Custom bollards from Forms+Surfaces provide
attractive pathway lighting that likewise fits in unobtrusively with
the surrounding stonework and foliage. For the Center’s main entrance,
we fabricated pylon signs with internal illumination as well as the
large, overhead lettering spanning the front gate. Custom
manufacturing by Forms+Surfaces has helped make the Leon Levy Visitor
Center an elegant and functional passageway between the urban
surroundings of the city and the green environment that awaits within
this magnificent public garden.
