Like many other institutions, the
University of Michigan has established policies that prohibit smoking
in all campus facilities. To prevent discarded cigarettes from
littering areas outside building entrances, the University has
undertaken a campus-wide installation of Forms+Surfaces’ Buttler® ash
receptacles. Students, faculty, administrators and custodial staff
have all been impressed with the quick acceptance and effectiveness of
the Buttlers. The appearance of walkways and landscape areas has been
markedly improved and the University’s goal of providing a smoke-free
environment has been significantly advanced.
