Minimal VOCs
Because it’s a “dry” process that uses no liquid solvents, powdercoating
releases virtually no harmful Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the
atmosphere.
HAPs Free
The powdercoating process produces no Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs),
chemicals that can harm human health and the environment.
Recoverable Overspray
Unlike the overspray from liquid paints, the powders used in the
powdercoating process can be recovered and reused for maximum efficiency
with the minimum amount of material.
Minimal Hazardous Waste
In contrast to solvent-based paints, powdercoating does not produce
residual sludges or leftover liquid thinners that must be disposed of as
hazardous waste.
Long Life Cycle
Highly resistant to abrasion, cracking, chipping, chemicals and
ultraviolet degradation, powdercoat finishes typically last the life of a
product with no need for repainting and its associated environmental
costs.
Minimal Maintenance
Powdercoat finishes don’t require periodic scraping and recoating.
Surfaces can usually be cleaned with mild detergents and a simple water
rinse. Solvents, acids, bleaches, abrasives and other harsh chemicals that
could harm the environment are not required.
