Brookline Place is an extension of Boston Children’s Hospital’s urban campus and serves as a shared park between the hospital and adjacent neighborhood. Intended as a family-centered civic space, it provides a natural setting to be enjoyed by the community, building occupants, and travelers passing through the nearby MBTA station. The park is a sustainable environment that aligns with the focus of Mikyoung Kim Design to create restorative landscapes that draw people outside and invite them to engage with the natural world. Its design emphasizes movement and connection with pathways that reinforce the relationships between the institution and the community. Different configurations of our Knight Bench go with the flow and provide seating along the way. Non-illuminated security bollards contribute to the safe sense of place.
