Tufts Library

Project Overview

The recently reimagined Tufts Library, by Tappé Architects, involved demolishing an existing library, which was more than 50 years old, and replacing it with a modern 21st-century building on the same site.

The new library has multiple outdoor seating and dining areas in its centrally located campus that abuts a neighborhood, town fields, a playground, and a school. Updates designed by Warner Larson Landscape Architects include a welcoming entrance plaza, enhanced accessible pedestrian circulation, an outdoor amphitheater, picnic areas, sensory and pollinator gardens, and more.

F+S site furnishings were used throughout the outdoor spaces. Chosen for their durable construction, non-corrosive materials, and long lifecycle, each is a fitting match for this people-friendly gathering place.
