What is the WELL Building Standard?

The WELL Building Standard is a performance-based certification system that explores the connection between the buildings where we spend our time and the health and wellness impacts on us as occupants.

Taking a holistic approach, WELL joins best practices in design and construction with evidence-based research to measure, certify, and monitor seven categories of building performance: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.

A passing score in each of the categories results in WELL Certification awarded at one of three levels: Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
