Linia: A Colorful Café Vibe in Stainless Steel

Linia Café Chairs & Side Tables are deceptively simple designs that invite easy customization and offer the exceptional performance of stainless steel, all at a budget-friendly price point.

Designed for indoor/outdoor versatility, the line’s high-quality materials and finishes are matched by its solid construction and thoughtful detailing.

Configurability is key to Linia’s go-anywhere appeal.

Chair and table frames are electropolished stainless steel and can be specified with or without a powdercoat finish. Both options contribute differently to the product’s overall look and feel: the electropolished finish on its own highlights the classic beauty of the stainless steel, while the powdercoat option can enhance a color story.

Chair seats and backs and table tops are powdercoated stainless steel. They can be specified in colors to match or contrast with the chair and table frames. In addition, seats and backs can be the same or different colors—a great way to create two-tone effects that align with identity and branding themes.

For added visual variation, perforation patterns are an option for Linia chair seats and table tops. The standard pattern is Sweep—a playful, freeform arrangement that forms a gradient across the seat or top and invites dynamic shadow play as light conditions shift.

6

Going beyond Sweep, custom perforation patterns are also an option and can be a smart choice for projects wanting to bring logos, branding or other site-specific themes to their seating arrangements.

When it comes to functionality, Linia’s electropolished stainless steel chair and table frames make a difference and offer long-term advantages that include enduring beauty and increased resistance to weather, handling, and day-to-day wear and tear.

Compared to chrome-plated steel, a commonly used, less expensive look-alike, the differences are quickly apparent, especially when considered for products going into mixed-use spaces, outdoor settings, marine environments, and/or adverse weather conditions.

Unlike chrome plating, which when chipped or damaged can result in corrosion and a compromised underlying steel surface, the electropolishing process creates an intrinsic finish: the finish is part of the stainless steel. If the electropolished surface gets scratched or damaged, the inherent corrosion resistance of the stainless significantly minimizes the potential for long-term damage and potential costs resulting from finish failure.

To help illustrate the differences, F+S worked with a material testing lab to perform salt spray tests on electropolished stainless steel (shown at left in the photo) and chrome-plated steel (shown at right). After 500 hours, the results speak for themselves:

Stackability adds to the performance beauty of Linia Café Chairs. They can be stacked, generally to 4-high, for efficient handling and storage when not in use. Nylon bumpers on the undersides of the seats provide protection between chairs.

7

From easily stored and stacked to quickly unstacked, Linia is ideal for seasonal and adaptable-use spaces.

And, when the mood or need strikes, Linia is equally at home in impromptu or temporary gathering places.

Finally, Linia’s design pays well with others: Linia Café Chairs are a natural fit for full-size café tables (like the F+S Column Table shown here); and Linia Side Tables can complement a wide range of chair and seating styles.
